Joey Verheugd volgde de opleiding tot allround grimeur aan het ROC in Roosendaal, waar hij zich specialiseerde in visagie, special effects en haarwerk. Tijdens zijn studie deed hij praktijkervaring op bij Stage Entertainment, waar hij tot op de dag van vandaag betrokken is bij diverse producties. Zo werkte hij als vervangend hoofd kap en grime bij producties als Frozen en Aida. Ook internationaal is hij actief voor Stage Entertainment in Duitsland.

Als grimeur werkte Joey voor Nederlandse pretparken zoals de Efteling en Walibi. Bij de Walibi Fright Nights stuurt hij als make-up supervisor een team van veertig grimeurs aan. Daarnaast ontwierp hij pruiken voor talloze producties in Nederland en België, waaronder Evita, In bed met Dietrich en Piaf, Charlie Chaplin, The Full Monty en Kinky Boots. Ook werkte hij als grimeur voor de band Within Temptation en is hij actief als freelancer voor musicals, televisie, film, fotoshoots en evenementen.

Joey Verheugd trained as an all-round makeup artist at ROC Roosendaal, specializing in beauty, special effects, and wigs. During his studies, he gained practical experience at Stage Entertainment, where he is still involved in various productions. He has worked as Deputy Head of Wigs & Makeup on productions such as Frozen and Aida, and is also active internationally with Stage Entertainment in Germany.

As a makeup artist, Joey has worked for Dutch theme parks such as Efteling and Walibi. At Walibi Fright Nights, he supervises a team of forty makeup artists. He has also designed wigs for numerous productions in the Netherlands and Belgium, including Evita, In Bed with Dietrich and Piaf, Charlie Chaplin, The Full Monty, and Kinky Boots. In addition, Joey has worked with the band Within Temptation and continues to be active as a freelancer for musicals, television, film, photoshoots, and events.

Joey Verheugd absolvierte die Ausbildung zum Allround-Maskenbildner am ROC in Roosendaal, wo er sich auf Visagie, Special Effects und Perücken spezialisierte. Als Maskenbildner arbeitete Joey für niederländische Freizeitparks wie den Efteling und Walibi. Bei den Walibi Fright Nights leitet er als Make-up-Supervisor ein Team von vierzig Maskenbildnern. Darüber hinaus entwarf er Perücken für zahlreiche Produktionen in den Niederlanden und Belgien, darunter Evita, In Bed with Dietrich and Piaf, Charlie Chaplin, The Full Monty und Kinky Boots. Außerdem war Joey als Maskenbildner für die Band Within Temptation tätig und arbeitet weiterhin freiberuflich für Musicals, Fernsehen, Film, Fotoshootings und Veranstaltungen.
